wow hi xanga, last time i wrote here was the end of first quarter, now its the end of second quarter!! only one more week till home, classes are over, just triple threat tomorrow, cfa friday, weekend, finals mon & tues, and bam home

last week was the worst week of my life...too many deaths, too much drama, too much of everything...

last week the prep school witnessed a woman die outside the classroom window in a hit & run incident...how the woman couldn't see here i don't know, why she kept going i don't get either...she passed away before the medical team got there..r.i.p Ms. Donna Head

also on this day one of our guys lost a testicle in a bizzare boys being boys fight...they were messing around when the one guy kicked and hit the others balls...they couldn't save it, so it was removed...so a nice start to the week.

tues we got in a lot of trouble, everything that could go wrong did and as a group we were called out...weds was worst we recieved the punishments...those who messed up got anything from all electronics taken away to tours..

a tour: 3-6 hours of marching by yourself out on the drill pad with a rifle in service dress...minute by minute for hours on end...at the hill they can range up to 99hrs...no joke...alpha boys were the first ever to do them at the  prep..

oh did i mention it was the weekend we got 8 inches on snow and the high was 18 degrees...yeah not fun

plus on top of this all there's so much underground drama going on with a certain person in our squad..she should be gone but alas she's here and its killing moral, once the case gets passed hopefully she'll be gone...

friday i find out a friend back home from high school has passed away...Tierney...my prayers with her family at this time, she was a very sweet, caring, and fun girl she lived her life to the fullest she could and she'll always be remembered for her presence here on earth! r.i.p Tierney

and finally to end the week sunday we were in lockdown for the shooting outside the base, a gunman opened fire on a church many of our cadets and preppies attend, no one here was hurt but others were.

sometimes i don't get this world, but i know everything happens for a reason..we just have to be strong with one another to move on and not dwell..

i hope everyone's finals are going well and y'all have safe trips home! can't wait to see y'all in a week!

i can't believe the first quarter is already at its end..we have finals next week, get to be on extreme makeover home edition for a training day, then the Triple Threat Thursday (ORI, CCRI, Drill Comp) all in one glorious day, and then a nice long three day weekend...which means hitting up the clubs with my roomie, hooah...

and you know for as much as it stinks here sometimes with all the "college aspects" (which actually are just classes) added with all the military..i wouldn't want to be anywhere else.  the people here are awesome, i'm learning so much, and i know with that combination freshman year at the hill will yeah suck, and suck a lot, but won't be that bad...and the big picture is i'll graduate with a job and as a 1stLt...hopefully with a pilot slot to fly one of this bad boys..

hooah.

hope everyone else is having a good college experiance, and enjoying any free time..trust me once its gone, you'll never take it for granted again!

half way through SDO duty..hooah.

basically i just sit at a desk for 6.5 hours making sure no one dies and the squadron stay somewhat quiet..i was on to do CQ (a shorter, nice version) next week, but with all the football guys gone my name was next up..at least i got to eat my ravioli noodles before my shift started, yay..

it's funny how the littlest things make my day..for example grocery shopping onbase..it cost me $10 to get some apples, sushi, cup-a-noodles, cheese-its, wheat-thins, poptarts, mircowave popcorn, and a chocolate bar (my dessert for the week)..just $10!! it's awesome, no taxes or anything..and now that we aren't forced to eat at the chow hall weekends, it's quite a deal!! most the guys are out this weekend though to denver, so its pretty quiet around here..last night was fun, went out for pizza with the boys..got a cute picture

ray, ma-tus, myself with the glorious arrow tan line (thanks blues) and frenchie..it was fun. i had to run back full blast for west though, haha..and after running 7miles earlier that day in the mountains, it was a nice jog :)...

but yeah just being able to walk to the BX by myself without a wingman was a huge deal, it felt so..free..haha sad but true! i love this place, even with the strict rules and all..we make it fun..the guys are all like my brothers, i love them all, and the girls are so close b/c there's a grand total of 15 in alpha so we stick together against our 70 brothers..haha..and the nice little daniel radcliffe letter i got today, amazing, thank you ashley!! but yeah..can't wait till thurs, TCU VS AIR FORCE/MY BIRTHDAY!! haha HOOAH FALCONS! (sorry frogs, but they are paying me $800 a month, it's the least i can do)

oh and some pictures from our random tornado storm that hit usafa last week..i thought texas weather was bad, this was insane..

us before we had to go into the dayroom for an hour due to tornado watches..and yes our F-100 was getting the heck beat out of it..baseball size hail.

all that is hail, huge hail, the ground looked like dippin' dot bowl, this was 3 mins into the storm..just 3 mins!! haha
